Fall will be a very busy time for Apple. Beside launching the iPhone 5 and iOS 5, a report from Thisismynext also said that the new iPad will come, and it will be called the iPad HD. Sounds like a reposted story right? That is because you have also heard that the iPad 2 Plus with Retina Display and some other spec boost will coming this Fall.
The rumor said that iPad HD will rock a 2048 x 1536 resolution and will be aimed to the pro market like video producers. If we are looking to Apple's portfolio of product, the iPad HD does really make sense. They have three different MacBook lineup for different kind of users. They also have many versions of iPod. Creating different tiers for their product will also widened their market range.
If the iPad HD will really rock the improved screen, it will surely need a GPU bump. But doubling the resolution is also a good step because the current App Store programs will be able to run with minimal adjustments. Now the question is, when will Apple create a different tier of iPhone? It might be happened with the iPhone 4S that is rumored to be coming soon.
