Recently, Google has updated their browser based service for news update on Android and iPhone gadget. It means that the owners of smartphone with those two platforms will be able to receive news based on your location. The only thing you need to do is coming to the website with either your Android or iPhone, and then authorize Google news to use your location.

After that, any news coming from nearby will be coming straight to your smartphone in a new section called “News Near You”. You can change the order of the section from there, whether you want it as high as you love it, or just as low as you hate it.

As you can see, this is another effort from Google to make sure that their services are web based, and not only a standalone app. This is a good way to double their development progress as it is more or less the same services that is used on Android or iPhone. Actually six months ago, Google News is only a mobile optimized service, so it is a good news that Google has upgrade the feature. If you want to give a try on the new feature, just visit news.google.com from your mobile browser.
